DCNews —California, New Jersey and Illinois Again Dominate List of Vulnerable Housing Markets. “ATTOM has released a Special Housing Risk Report spotlighting county-level housing markets around the United States that are more or less vulnerable to declines, based on home affordability, unemployment and residential foreclosure in Q2 of 2022. The report shows that New Jersey, Illinois, and inland California continued to have the highest share of the most-at-risk markets in Q2 –with the largest clusters throughout the New York City and Chicago areas, leaving Southern and Midwestern states remaining less exposed. Most-vulnerable counties clustered in the Chicago, New York City and Philadelphia areas, along with sections of California.”
NMN—Average LTV inched down to a record low in 2Q.“The average loan-to-value ratio for mortgages in the United States fell to its lowest point since at least 2010 during the second quarter, according to CoreLogic’s most recent report on homeowner equity. At 42%, the average LTV for mortgaged properties was down from 43% the previous quarter and 46% a year earlier, according to Selma Hepp, interim lead in CoreLogic’s office of the chief economist at CoreLogic.”
